Phenelle Segal to Present on Infection Prevention Compliance at OR Excellence

Phenelle Segal, RN, CIC, founder of Infection Control Consulting Services (ICCS), will present at the ninth annual OR Excellence (ORX) conference in Las Vegas, taking place October 11-13 at the Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa.

The ORX conference is presented by Outpatient Surgery Magazine, a national, monthly magazine for physicians, nurses and administrators involved in outpatient surgery. This year's conference is expected to bring together hundreds of attendees for interacting and networking with colleagues, speakers and vendors.

Segal's session, titled "Infection Prevention Patrol: Keeping Law and Order in Your Perioperative Setting," is scheduled for 9:00 AM on Friday, October 13. The description is as follows:

"Responsibility for infection prevention has fallen into the hands of different members of the surgical team and keeping on top of changes made to standards, regulations and expectations is often daunting. Phenelle Segal Discusses Surface Disinfection in Outpatient Surgery Magazine

Phenelle Segal, RN, CIC, FAPIC, Infection Control Consulting Services (ICCS) Founder and President, has contributed a column on surface disinfection to Outpatient Surgery Magazine.

The column is titled "A Deep Dive Into Surface Disinfection."

In the piece, Ms. Segal shares 10 questions she asks staff members responsible for room turnover during onsite visits to client surgical facilities. These questions include the following:

  • What is the dwell/wet/kill time of the product you're using to disinfect surfaces?
